William “Willie” Williams B.1863
« on: Friday 12 April 24 21:37 BST (UK) »
Parents of William Williams , Mother Mary {Robson Thomas ??) b.1830 S. Wales. Father John Thomas Williams believed to be born 1815 in Wales. They had an older child John Thomas Williams possibly b.1857 d.1920 Wales. John and Mary moved to USA and had Rachel b 1864 d. 1908 ,story says she was born on the ship.  Thomas Benjamin b.1868 d.1944 George Williams b.1871 d. Unknown.
John was said to have been married to Mary’s sister and after she passed he married Mary.

This is everything I know. Names , Dates. And place of birth are from census’s. I am guessing where in Wales because I have not found any document stating where in Wales.

My Grandfather would always tell me I was Welsh and scotch Irish.

Where did they move to in the US?  The Welsh newspapers were quite good at covering the diaspora over the pond but with names like these, a location might help (although the website is down tonight)

If LadyHawk has the correct family then John senior became a naturalized citizen in 1872

Family History Library film 1644106 but not viewable from home.

You could also contact Summit County Ohio to see if the originals are held locally.

Parents of William Williams , Mother Mary {Robson Thomas ??) b.1830 S. Wales. Father John Thomas Williams[/b] believed to be born 1815 in Wales.

They had an older child John Thomas Williams possibly b.1857 d.1920 Wales

GRO indexes shows mmn if not illegimate - I can’t see a William mmn Robson there are quite a number of births with mmn Thomas born 1863. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/login.asp
Do you have his exact date of birth?

Looking at the census record his father John has middle initial ‘P’  ???

Added there are these possibly birth entries for son John (none with mmn Robson)

William “ Willie’ Williams ; John Williams // family search
« Reply #5 on: Saturday 20 April 24 17:14 BST (UK) »
Yes, I believe Ladyhawk is correct however, I have found another family with very similar information with a Daughter named Mary added.
I have also came across the middle Initial P for John.  I have linked the family to the town Thomastown, Springfield Twp., Summit County, Akron , Ohio and Canton, Ohio in Stark county.
Is this your Williams family in Ohio?

1870 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6LB-HS6

1880 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8S1-JZC
I have only been able to find a  cemetery and grave stone for my Great Grandmother Laura (Baker) Carnes daughter of Rachael Williams the daughter of John & Mary Williams.

Yes, The above is what I have been able to find. That is my family search.
