Sharrock of Liverpool
« on: Wednesday 17 April 24 08:55 BST (UK) »

Does anyone have any family tales/history of a Margaret Sharrock giving birth to an illegitimate child in Liverpool in October 1894 who happened to become my Grandad Alfred Sharrock. His father was not named...

Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Sharrock and sister of Isabella. Margaret was born in 1874 in Liverpool. She went on to marry William Pitt in 1897.

Anybody any connections at all?

That's definitely her indeed. The one married to Deery is not her as she married a Smith after the death of William Pitt.

Valerie Kehoe has sent me a private message regarding trees but it appears I can't reply to a private message.

Thanks for all of that. I actually have all that information. The key I'm looking for is that Mary 'Margaret' Sharrock gave birth in October 1894 to my Grandad Alfred Sharrock but his father wasn't named on the birth certificate.

I was wondering if anyone had any family 'tales' of this or if anyone had any access to bastardy orders at the time? Desperate to find out.

A tree by Ian Matthews has been mentioned to me; I know of this as Ian is my brother.

Thanks anyway.
