Death look up please

Looking for the death of Gwendoline Mary Gibbs, maiden name Williams, born on the 27th March 1909 Henbury, parents Herbert and Kate Williams, married to Arthur Septimus Gibbs in 1934 Bristol. I have come across a death in 1993 Bristol on the GPO site, but on ancestry according to the western daily press Gwendoline died on the 12th 1993, spouse John Gibbs.
I cannot find an marriage entry between Gwendoline to a John Gibbs, but am I missing something?
Gwendoline and Arthur where together in 1939.
Any help would be appreciated

It might be that the notice was placed by someone who only knew her late husband as John;  for decades I thought my godfather was called Frank and I only found about a few years ago that his "official" name was Peter!

There's a 1993 Probate Registry (Bristol) record for a Gwendoline Mary Gibbs. Death: 12 Oct 1993.
Address: Windmill House, Alveston Road, Old Down, Tockington.

The death announcement states that Gwendoline's siblings were Roy and Kathleen.
Does this tie up with what you know about her?

Jen, Not as far as I know, Gwendoline did have a brother Herbert who died in 1934 age 26.

I do not know where Roy and Kathleen come from unless they where Arthur or John's siblings. I know very little about Arthur or who his parents were,

If I am looking at the right person there was a younger brother called Royston with the family in 1921?

The announcement says that she was 'the beloved sister' of Roy and Kathleen.

Gibbs, A. S. (John) of Milbury Heath passed peacefully away at home on June 25th Aged 72. Will be sadly missed by his loving wife Gwen......

So, as nanny jane suggested, Arthur Septimus was usually known as John.

Date of birth in GRO death index 18th September 1907, which fits exactly with Arthur's date of birth in the 1939 register.
