John F. Sinclair - getting closer?
« on: Saturday 27 April 24 11:53 BST (UK) »
Following on from my previous post (https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=879486.msg7517489#msg7517489), I've identified a possible marriage in Manitoba in 1939 between a John Sinclair and Margaret Trindle. Problem is I don't know if it is the correct John Sinclair. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can confirm before heading off in the wrong direction?

Many thanks,

Kathryn

For those searching, this was John Findlay Sinclair on the 1931 census Nelson, Manitoba, Canada.

Was John F Sinclair ever mentioned in any death notices/obituaries of siblings after 1929 ?

This might be a brother who died in 1946 but not seen any death notice, maybe this newspaper article could be Daniel Sinclair born 1914

Came across this piece of information...........

"John Findlay Sinclair was born 31 May 1904 in South Queensferry, Scotland. He served in the Royal Regiment of Artillery (service number 1423937). He was discharged 3.9.34"

Where was he when he was discharges in 1934 ?  Did he go back to Scotland ?

and another older thread :- 2020

Thanks for the information. He was the oldest of 12, two of his siblings went to Australia but I don't think any other were in Canada. I don't think he returned to Scotland but it would be interesting to find out where he went after the 1931 census.
