George Read & Harriet (nee Nye) lived in Thebarton Adelaide from June 1840.
they married in Chichester SSX in January 1840.
Children [all born Adelaide] were Charles b1841; Ellen b1844; Elizabeth Jane b 1846; George b 1849; William b 1853.
Harriet returned to England in 1859.
If anyone has access to parish registers or other records for these baptisms, I am only seeking the birthplace & parents of their father George Read. He died date & place unknown.
(An online public member tree has him born Yorkshire.)

I'm assuming that you have a copy of the marriage entry (Ancestry):

28 January 1840 - St Pancras, Chichester

George Read - full age - bachelor - cabinet maker - residence, Chichester - father - George Read, Carrier.
Harriet Nye - full age - spinster - father - William Nye, Publican.

Both signed, and witnesses - Samuel and Susan King

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Milliepede: I don't have any age. Marriage states "full age" that's why I was hoping for one of the children's birth registrations which should have father's age & birthplace before I purchase same.
Death is also unknown so no further information there.

For South Australian birth certificates, father's age and place of birth was not included until 1907.

My mantra is NEVER EVER trust an online tree, especially if it is unsupported & not sourced; such a lot of rubbish is posted as true- check every single 'fact'
I guess he will remain a mystery for now, I'm not prepared to quote doubtful facts.

Really - I was brought up in Rycot Road Prefabs Speke and now live in Western Avenue - I am 73  :) what is your maiden name - I may know your family ??? - I know the Brew Family and the Corrigan family and the Hart family which are on your list  :)
