Martha Johnston, border crossing, 1924

Martha Johnston was born June 28, 1885 in Paisley, Scotland to Thomas Johnston and Jane Cockburn.
Martha had a daughter Leila Margerie Tavendale Aug 4, 1926 in Penticton BC, Canada
I cannot find a marriage between Martha Johnston and Alexander Edwards Tavendale but Alexander was single on the 1921 Penticton census.
I have found this entry for 1924 but don't know if it is the correct Martha, although thinking not.

Martha's mother was Jane Johnston nee Cockburn who was living in New York 1914-1924, after which she was living with her daughters in Penticton, BC. Jane died at the home of her son-in-law  A.E.Tavendale  May 6, 1934.
I have searched the Royal BC Museum Archives site for a BC marriage between Alexander and Martha. But perhaps it was in New York or in the USA. Also searched familysearch and Ancestry. Was there really a marriage??

The 1924 entry that you have posted above (1924 on Saturnia) is for a married woman.
Martha Johnston, wife of Edward Robinson Johnston. They have 2 daughters with them.

I found the marriage of Edward Robinson Johnston to Martha Russell Wilkinson in Glasgow 1917.

I  googled the marriage of Alexander and Martha and it was June 18, 1924 although I can't see the certificate. It's my lucky day that you found the marriage.

Martha's parents were Thomas Johnston and Jane Cockburn. Alexander's parents were David Tavendale and Maggie McLaughlin.
