this is a long shot i think as i don't know if they got married in Germany.
i am looking for a marriage for James Buchannan and Annalise otten. as far as I know she was born in Germany somewhere and James was born in Scotland 1924 .she was a nurse. And as far as i have been told they moved from Scotland to Australia . they would not have had any children again i don't know.
 James mothers husband died in the 1st world war so her husband was not James father. so on James birth certificate his name is down as James buchanan or brown as brown was his step brothers and sister last name

If they had no children & he was illegitimate - what is your connection to him?  Is it via Annalise?

no his mother Mary carruth buchanan was married to William brown and they had 6 kids . then WILLIAM got killed in the 1st world war in France 1918. so Mary then had James in 1924 to some one else. so because her kids to William brown all there last names are brown. she called James buchanan or brown so he could make up his own mind what he wanted his last names to be so all of them where born in Govan Glasgow Scotland. so one of Mary kids to William brown. is my grandfather. and his name was William brown his son was William brown and his son me is William brown . i am age 64 and i have never meet James or Annaliese. the story i got told was she was born in Germany she was a nurse she meet James they got married came back to Scotland and that was the last time the family ever seen them or heard from them.

The Death Certificate for Annaliese will give you the details of her marriage along with other information.
