Just looking at the  WYCOMBE connection a little more deeply.

The first marriage as given
862/1903
CURTIS Charles H
WYCOMBE Jane
At BROKEN HILL

The "bio" attached to the headstone and burial record of Ann GARRARD at Find a Grave has the same or similar information about the daughter being WYCOMBE and the registration which Tree Spirit has cited is given there too.

The grave headstone also includes one Jame BLIGHT who died in 1933, He was Jane's  (or Jean 's) second husband. Jean/Jane was definitely a daughter of Ann GARRARD (formerly FREEMAN).

9618/1906
BLIGHT James
CURTIS Jane
At BROKEN HILL

After his death, Jean/Jane made a third marraige in South Australia to Kenneth Charles PENNYCUICK and our OP does , in a reply , state the belief that Jean is the daughter and the 2 men are sons-in-law of Ann.

Here she is as Mrs BLIGHT in 1930 ;D
Jean Blight’s ring goes missing in 1930

Funeral Notice for James BLIGHT . 1933. South Australia

BLIGHT.— THE FRIENDS of the late Mr. JAMES BLIGHT are respectfully informedthat his Funeral will leave his late residence,22, Marion street, North Adelaide, on WEDNES-
DAY, at 4 p.m., for the North road Cemetery.
P. LeCORNU, Undertaker.

It seems likely that this is the right track.

I know that this will not help in finding Ann's arrival in Australia, however I noticed on the FAG details for Ann's Headstone there is a reference to her brother Joseph residing in Kalgoorlie, WA.

There are a number of notices in Trove regarding his death, here is one

A $5 or $6 outlay will purchace the birth certificate for Jane WYCOMBE 1884 from UK GRO and on it should be the child's father's name and his occupation.

A tree online has it as Charles.

The ship Daphne arrived in Adelaide on the 17th of December, 1885 (source Trove, Evening Journal 18 Dec 1885, p2) but a shipping list does not seem to have survived (the South Australian Archives say that not all lists have survived),  There is a list of passengers in the newspaper but only those in cabins are mentioned - the 32 passengers travelling in steerage are not named.

Joseph FREEMAN, caretaker of Kalgoorlie was a married man. Here is an In Mem placed by his wife Robina.

They married in South Australia in 1875, which is some years before Ann Freeman's assumed arrival.

To know more about Jane FREEMAN/WYCOMBE, you will need to get a full transcription of this marriage.
862/1903
CURTIS Charles H
WYCOMBE Jane
At BROKEN HILL

As she is your grandmother's daughter, the small expense would be worthwhile.

If you need advice on this process, let us know.

Many thanks to all in assisting our endeavours.
In UK BMD Jane Freeman is showing as "Freeman".
No mention of "Wycombe".

Will be in Liverpool in June and will search records there for further info.
Many marriages by mother and daughter and subsequent name changes helps to confuse matters.

glopaul.
I don't really know what birth you are looking at on UK  BMD,as you do not state volume, page or place, but this is the birth of Ann FREEMAN's daughter.

WYCOMBE, JANE
Mother’s Maiden surname: FREEMAN

GRO Reference: 1884  D Quarter in TOXTETH PARK
Volume 08B  Page 250

There is no confusion about it.

At this stage the name of the father ....WYCOMBE is not known,

Sue,

Thanks for that.
Was looking up 'Free BMD".
This helps solve some confusion; now would like to find name of ship and date from UK to Australia.
