So many Byrnes of bridge street
Could we confirm if any are the children of Bridgett ...& (Patrick ? )

Brigidmac...it's Bridge Lane.

From the 1911 census, two sons James and Thomas with their mother Bridget.

Here are two possible births with both born in Hacketstown and mother's maiden name as Kehoe.

James Byrne born 12 August 1874

Thomas Byrne born 4 July 1892
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1892/02338/1874684.pdf

Leads to a marriage of James Byrne to Bridget Kehoe in 1871.

Just to say, I found the reference to Arthur! Everything was happening quickly. I presume his birth is ruled out now.

Evandarcy,
Might it be worth contacting the local church to see if Bertie was baptised there?
Or, the church of marriage might have notes in the parish records.

If you can find him in 1939 his birthdate will be given and therefore easier to check for a baptism

Or is it not available for Ireland

So far I have 9 children for James Byrne and Bridget Kehoe and fair idea  of gaps for missing children.

James Bryne m.(1871) Bridget Kehoe (c1851-14 Nov.1918 Hacketstown)

I think we can probably rule out Michael, Margaret, Ellen and Thomas as Bertie's parent.
Missing children possibly born between John/Michael c1882, Michael/Margaret c1886 and maybe another one in 1870s.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Bertie is a standard nickname for Albert.

As this Bertie Byrne named his first son Albert, I would take this to imply that his own real name and/or that of this father was Albert.

Bertie can also be a nickname for Robert. It's possible that Bertie real name was Bertram and he didn't like the name as called his son Albert after himself in a way. We still have no clues about who Bertie's father was or whether he himself knew any details.

I searched the parish and civil records for any Bertrams, of any surname. None.
So what are the chances that he was Bertram?
