Just realised that  James Darcy Boxwell's date of birth is listed as 24th June 1862 in 1939 and the birth cert for the James Boxwell I have also lists his date of birth as 24th June 1862 :)

Well that’s some good fortune but adds to the puzzle!
No sign of Michael Boxwell - there ar3 a couple of Mary Roach entries in censuses

I agree - no sign of Michael Boxwell and the most likely Mary b 1844 Ireland may have married a Michael Keouch in 1868 as below but I am not sure what happened to her  :-\

Marriage: 8 Feb 1868 St Peter & St Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bolton, Lancashire
Michaelem Keough - Andrew St.
Mariam Roach - Andrew St. 31
    Groom's Father: Thomae Keough
    Bride's Father: Patritii Roach
Witnesses: Jeremiah (Darby) Melvin, ex Andrew St.; Bridgida Sweeney, ex Andrew St.
Married by Edmundus Can. Carter M.R.

Yes, I thought that may be her too but we know James was with Charles in the censuses.

Lancs opc doesn’t have baptisms for 1862 to see if there is a baptism record for James. The records are at the archives, I think.
Similarly, I don't think we have a marriage record for James and Margaret in 1885.
Not sure how it would help - perhaps Charles is named as father.

LancashireBMD lists the 1885 marriage as HARRISON   Margaret A - DAREY   James   1885   at Bolton Register Office or Registrar Attended so sadly it won't be online.

No it doesn’t seem to be. It isn’t at St Peter and St Paul - they are online at Lancs opc but I don’t see it.

FreeBMD has James as D’Arcy in the marriage index and this is how it is on the original they have.

Wondering what the family think, Alamo?
What to do next. It’s odd isn’t it.
