WWII - help please with Philip Corpus - Darwin Australia
« on: Sunday 05 May 24 23:32 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I would really appreciate help please, need to find the Father and address of Philip Corpus, (full names if possible and any children).   He enlisted at Darwin - DX925 - Army, Second Aust Imperial Force.
Any further details would be great.
He was involved in Darwin with the bombing on the waterfront.

Not seeing any family details for him. His WW2 enlistment record is online.
His next of kin only mentions a grandfather (SC Corpus, Robinson St, Darwin); and an aunt (Mrs E Corpus, Robinson St, Broome).

Thank you anyway, I couldn't open that website.  So it looks like Grandfather and Aunt his next of kin. Jan

Are you having trouble viewing the WW2 record? Simply click on the link I provided above, and then click on View Digital Copy blue icon to the right of the screen.

Looks like he had a habit of desertion and going AWOL during his WW2 service.

"Philip Corpus, who in turn was a grandson of Sebero Corpus. The Corpus family from the Philippines has a long history with Broome, the Catholic Church and the SSJG (Sisters of St John of God)".

Oh yes, so much history on this family, the Pearlers etc.     I have a DNA match with one of the descendants, quite amazing trying to find the connection.    There has to be a male member who came from Berkshire in England to connect us up.   That's why I was looking for Father, rather than Grandfather.
