Was sitting outside enjoying the very warm sunshine, then the sea fret blew in.  :(  Oh well,  I suppose we have to be grateful for any sunshine we do get.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, went with friends to a vintage car and steam rally… a flyover pr by a Spitfire was the highlight of the afternoon…

Today was forecast rain and has been fine all day and now just started to rain… all OH's vegs seem to be taking an age to do much..mind you who would in this unpredictable weather…

Have a good week everyone…

Tuesday morning, bright and breezy, not very warm yet.
Yesterday a glorious day and a lot done in the garden, the back garden.

Need to go shopping ,a steak for son, I will use up yesterday’s cheese and onion pie .

Spoke with daughter as usual last night, wants me  there for my birthday , four birthdays in May, Flash Harry, his Mummy ,Daddy and me,so one celebration will do all!
Depending on what is said at my next appointment at the heart failure clinic and if son can drive down ( I like train travel but at the moment it all seems
very unreliable ,)we will be together.

Need another heather plant , one of six in small slate containers has died, also a dwarf conifer in a bigger slate container.
It  will be difficult to get that out !

No blossom  on my dwarf Bramley apple tree BUT ,on examination little black grubs at the centre of the leaf clusters where blossom ought to be!
My Cox’s is laden with blossom though.

Fish fed, after the months when they go semi dormant ,they remember a tap or two on the side of the pond means food.
So pretty, they have grown despite no food for months.
One’s tale is gorgeous ,a pale gold fish, ,that is quite aggressive and prevents the smallest from feeding . That and the third one are deep red/gold ,each  have pretty tales .
As yet though peace reigns.
I am very fond of them -had them since Spring 2017 .

Well will sneak out to do my own thing ,and call to see if a new member of our congregation is alright - she was not at Church oh Sunday .

Cheerio, look after yourselves ,thanks for the news.

Viktoria.

Morning  all, after yesterday's deluge of  rain today is beautiful, pity as some only get a few days holiday and  it was spolt by the rain.

Viktoria, how lovely to spend your birthday with your family,  the children will love it, strange you mentioned the fish as yesterday I wondered if they had surfaced yet , I must be a witch!

RTL,  do hope you managed to have a reasonable day yesterday.

Got to collect my new prescription  sun specs, hope I have made a mistake with the frames.

Enjoy your day everyone

Same with a bunch of family birthdays in May Viktoria, youngest granddaughter and a niece today. Little miss 2 had her requested green jelly with cream and sprinkles shared with family up there yesterday and a fun playground day with mummy and daddy today and favourite pizza.  We're going north to celebrate with them at weekend as bigger sister went to a 4 day school camp today, another trip for her birthday too later in month and their daddy has a birthday in between, as does other son- in-law and my sister and remembering mother-in-law and a dear aunt as well no longer with us. It is also mothers day for us this coming Sunday.

The Dash poem is very appropriate LM, have heard it at quite a few funerals now over recent years, condolences on losing a friend. Sounds like having visitors for the weekend went well  8)

Cheers all for the week

Morning all
I have one word at the moment ……WASPS!!!
I don’t recall having them flying into the house this early in the year. They’re not everyday but I’ve had several now - or the same one coming back time and again after a gap.
They get in as we have the back door ajar for the in out cat we have! I can’t see any nests or hear any regular outside buzzing either, just that noise when they get in. I wouldn’t care the gap is very small to get in, but like bluebottles, they don’t seem capable of flying out of a wide open window or a fully opened door. Jam jar fully in use to release them back outside.

I find flies very stupid, banging against the windows frantically ,when the door is wide open!
Had a Vine Weevil in the other day, in the sink!
I spent a good while yesterday treating plants obviously suffering from their attentions ,a lovely deep red Heuchera really ruined.
A pretty shrub with variegated leaves and pink tips which I treated last year with a fluid to pour on  the soil around and a leaf spray, it recovered but the blighters - well the grubs - are back in force.

Quite satisfying that crunch when you squash them !

Another sunny day ,water in the bird drinking / bathing container full of crumbs again, swished it out and refilled  , perhaps better further away.

Lots of Birthdays this month and two Wedding anniversaries and a New Home
for Flash Harry and family .
He will be 8 on May 11th.
He nearly didn’t make it ,born with Sepsis as he was in foetal distress  and   babies   then usually have a pre birth Bowel  movement and he ingested and inhaled the contaminated amniotic fluid.
2000 units of antibiotics at birth!
My grandson never left the hospital until things started to improve .
But here he is,a bit special as you can imagine and a really interesting and interested boy.
Kyra misses him when he is at school.I think she will be at his school before he leaves it to go to secondary school .
November 2021 when she was born, so will be almost five when she starts school ,so an older Reception Class child , F.H was a young one.
It will be difficult when they are at different schools as F,H goes in to Secondary Education.

Well work and a pre work cuppa call ,so look after yourselves folks .
Thanks for the news and updates etc.
Cheerio. Viktoria.
