LM said long standing bulbs Roobarb, so presume she means several years.

I have not had any tulips for several years, I used to have them in large pots. Frustratingly I am no longer able to garden myself, I have to rely on a gardener. I have done away with most pots because even watering is a problem for me.  :'(

I have been out early this morning working  in shade to put some fuchsias in, also took up my daffs, most came up blind even though most were new bulbs, got to decide whether to throw them away or store them, a lot of greenery with very few daffs.

LM

LM several of our long-standing daffodils came up blind this year too. I was wondering if it was the wet weather we had. I’m going to dig them up and put them in a big pot and see if they flower next year - assuming the bulbs look ok.

Bit of confusion here, it's Candleflame who has the long standing ones.  :)

A glorious day, went shopping early before it got too warm.
Three loads of washing all done and dry .
Only the ironing now ——— ::)

Bought some Petunias and trailing Lobelias.

All the neighbours have been busy, gardening ,sawing wood for their wood burning stoves I presume ,very noisy ?
I seem to be the one to borrow from,I don’t mind but hate it when I gave to ask for the articles back weeks later!
I suppose next will be the “ Barbies”—-
I am having bacon ,lettuce and tomato butties!
Son down at Head Office ,back Monday probably .

Been trying on my summer clothes,I have lost a bit of weight so some are way too big ,a visit to my daughter’s later this month so a visit to the shops.
At the heart clinic on Wednesday morning so can stop off in Bury where I change buses, on my way home to see what there is.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

I live in north west Lancashire.

It's Saturday 11th May and I've sat in the sun for three hours, storing up a stock of melatonin, plus some Vitamin D, etc., etc.

Years ago I would hear a multitude of birds singing, but this year only one solitary chirrup.  My son noticed that my usual pale skin has actually tanned this year.

I'm now indoors listening to some females chatting about a women's cricket match.  Being brought up in Yorkshire, I love my cricket but I think I need some lessons in modern language.  I didn't recognise the term "She gave it some". after one batsman connected her cricket bat with the ball.

They are long-standing but they had been replanted not this season but the one before.
I liked the idea of ‘ casualty corner’.

Didn't  think it was going to be such a good day  but it has turned out quite a nice day

Covid jab then off to the optician  to collect prescription sun glasses, didn't realise they were designer frames, should have realised by the cost,  commented on the size of the spec case I would need a bigger handbag,  they need adjusting a bit more,  slipping down the bridge of my nose to much, my other ones were a cosy fit, case of getting used to them, have to wear them more often now due to a molecular  problem.

Should have gone to the garden centre  but got home and somehow couldn't  be bothered, being Saturday I imagine they are busy.

My daughter took some beautiful pictures last night around midnight, the sky was beautiful, pinky and purple, bit like Northern lights.

Almost another week gone, unbelievable.

Oh!, my eldest son on the phone told me about The Aurora Borealis ,and I forgot to look. ::)

A nice sunny morning but fresh as yet.
Some seedlings coming on nicely in the little newspaper and toilet roll middle
” plant pots” .
Fish bright and the biggest one does not seem to be bullying the smallest  as yet.
No plans really other than Church and I will pick up a bit of shopping on my way home.
Not sure when second son will be back -Monday or Tuesday,I hope Tuesday so I can get something done !

Daughter’s Wedding  Anniversary  on 14th ,was eldest son’s on 10 th.
He is taking me to the Garden centre ,I need a trellis for a Clematis which he has given me.A birthday present, for later this month.
I can get something for his and his wife’s  ( who had a ‘spot “ removed a little while ago ) anniversary and he can take it home.
After returning me to my home!
Such a busy month ,five  birthdays and two anniversaries.

Well must get on ,no  chauffeur this morning as number two son at Head Office so bus to Church.

Cheerio folks. Hope it is a nice day for you all.
Viktoria.
