As the 1849 marriage record states RL was a "widower" he could've married prior to the 1841 census. If he's the chap Monica found in Stockport in 1841 he may have already been widowed by then.
Or married just after the 1841 census.

From that possible 1841 census, I think the Betty Peal showing there is likely Richard's sister. Marriage for a Betty Lomas and James PEEL. Other names listed but with that 1841 census entry, seems likely entry for their marriage.

Betty's christening entry in 1814 www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQFW-PBL On this, father Robert's occupation is showing as Spinner (which fits well with Carder showing on Richard's 1849 marriage).

Just additional confirmation that you are on the right line now for Richard.

His brother Joseph's christening entry www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7WB-9H3

Joseph, a baker, married for the first time in 1863 in Manchester to a Mary Price. A clip with his father's details below:

I'm seeing quite a few Lomas baptisms in Stockport to parents Robert and Betty.
Baptism dates range from 1793-1816. About 9 children. (Poor Betty!)
