I have a reference for a marriage in 1744 "married in Katherine Hall Chapel" in Grewat Shelford but haven't been able to find what church this chapel was in.
Thanks

That could be St Catherine's Hall Chapel, Cambridge.

The Great Shelford parish vicar, John Kippey, attended St Catherine's College so, presumably, was allowed to conduct marriages there.

Thank you all for that . On the Cambs database it does say Great Shelford but your suggestions are a big help
Cheers

Contact the St Catharine's College archive and ask them to look for the marriage to ascertain whether it took place there:
archivist@caths.cam.ac.uk
St Catharine's was known as Catharine Hall until 1860. There are several marriages in the Great and Little Shelford registers that took place at Catharine Hall Chapel, plus several more at other colleges. The Little Shelford advowson was bought by the college in the 1870s so there is a connection albeit later than the marriage you are looking at. (Buying advowsons gave colleges a means of securing the rapid succession of Fellows, most of whom were in holy orders.)
