John Graham location please
« on: Wednesday 15 May 24 09:23 BST (UK) »
Could i ask for some help please. I am trying to locate a John Graham born (c) 1850 in Liverpool Lancashire. He married Eliza Lewis on 20 April 1873 in Liverpool and he gives his father as John Graham a labourer. I cant find John in any census before his marriage to Eliza and i was wondering if you guys could have a look for me. John states on the 1881 and 1891 census that he was born in Liverpool. He died in 1896, the only John Graham i can find is with a father called David Graham and mother Charlotte. Any help appreciated thankyou xx

In the 1861 census there's a John Graham, 40, stonemason's labourer, with children Elizabeth 15,  William 13, John 11, and Margaret 5, all born in Liverpool. Piece 2650, folio 132, page number obscured, could be 43.

It’s indexed as Grassam on Ancestry

Added…and perhaps that is what it does say

The surname is GRASSAM for that family, father John GRASSAM mother Elizabeth WITTER.

There is a John GRAHAM who is a visitor in 1861 in the home of Hellen PATTERSON, a milliner.  Another visitor is Mary Ann TOWNSEND who is a widow.  There is a marriage in Liverpool in 1856 between a Mary Ann GRAHAM and Isaac TOWNSEND.
