The Courts Martial record says the trial was at Weedon on 22 Nov 1888 & sentenced to 56 days with hard labour
He vanishes from the records after that point, I can't find anything for him. As he doesn't seem to like military life I find it hard to think he uses the Dobbs alias and signs up again (and I think the military stuff in the name Dobbs overlaps timewise anyway) but where does he go? I have so many dna matches to this family through Sarah and her siblings but the closest so far is the grandchild of Sidney Ratcliffe who could be anything from a half 1st cousin to a half 1c2r.
