1919 Coroners Report
« on: Sunday 19 May 24 08:38 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I have a relative, Robert Jones, who died aged 58 on 5th Feb 1919 at 27 Norbury Street in Oldham. The death certificate is witnessed by the coroner - I wondered if anyone might be able to find details of any inquest at all into the death please?
Thanks, Luke

You could try contacting Local Archives, Oldham re newspapers.
Was the cause of death likely to have made a newspaper article?

Under Cause of Death (thanks to other rootschat members) it reads:

Disease the nature of which was not ascertained!

Certificate received from A G Smith Coroner for Oldham. Inquest held 7 February 1919.

That’s not helpful, is it.
Try contacting the Local Archives as you have a reasonably accurate date.

Thank you both, I had contact from the local archives and now have a copy of the newspaper report in the Oldham Chronicle.
