I don’t know your circumstances RTL, but I agree with Rena, this has been going on a long time ,in such circumstances we really are not thinking straight, and so don’t really see about ourselves what we would in others.

I think your Dr. would be helpful.
You need to think clearly given your responsible job,it is not selfish to make sure you are 100%,as a conscientious person ,do it for those you care for at
work and your family and  not least yourself .
Don’t leave yourself open to being thought negligent because you did not want to let anyone down by having a rest ,  because it could be seen as just that if you try to work beyond what are reasonable hours .
Only you know just how tired you are ,but your GP will surely advise.
Don’t give anyone the chance to throw back at you” You ought to have told us” .
Sincere sympathy and best wishes that there is some improvement in your gruelling work and travel conditions.

We have a duty to look after ourselves especially when we care for others.
It is not self pity or selfishness, quite the opposite, it is being conscientious.

Viktoria..

Yes do look after yourself RTL.

I empathise with those of you who have lost their taste
I didn't catch COVID

In a way my problem is the opposite..because of digestive problems I started cutting out spices and onions and garlic

Now I'm oversensitive to the taste + smell

Eating bland food for many years has affected what I can eat .

I still use black pepper as a flavouring

Off to visit a friend who had an operation on Monday .
It looks like I LL get opportunity to try out new raincoat ..

Not only a good raincoat think we need welly boots as well,  cannot believe after a few nice days it is like winter and almost  June,  could easily have rolled over and stayed in bed this morning it is so miserable.
Pity people on holiday with children
Anyway folks let's look forward to brighter days, no doubt we will complain when it gets up to 80 degrees plus, I know I will, just want a happy medium

Yeah roll out the flags.

General Election 4th July

This is the best week.

Let’s get this incompetent Government out

Let’s also get all the Post Office Directors involved in Horizon in jail.

Lets get all those involved in the NHS Blood scandal, in jail

Yes, all my pains and troubles pale into insignificance at the prospect of a fairer society.

Whatever party gets in they never really do what they have said  they would do if elected or keep promises made pre election.

Unless you get an ordinary working person earning a modest wage or an unemployed person who has really sought employment in a position where they can make their real difficulties known to those in power so changes will be made ,there will always be gross inequality .
I don’t mind some people having a great deal, more than I have, I have enough for a modest lifestyle but really feel sorry for young people working hard who can’t get on the housing ladder and are at the mercy of greedy landlords .
Margaret Thatcher had a lot to answer for, selling off Council housing stock
and letting borrowing include the wife’s salary which raised house prices, and allowing Estate Agents to be involved in mortgages.
They had a vested interest in high interest rates !
She let down the class from which she came .

I voted Conservative in that election ,I thought a woman would be more attuned  to family  needs etc, ::)

Many thought ‘“Oh ,a woman, she will be more down to earth,”

Never mind ,we are not in Israel, Gaza or Ukraine ,for which I am very thankful.Viktoria.

Well said Viktoria on all points, I couldn’t agree with you more!
My mother (Maggie Thatcher lover) God rest her soul..  and my husband not! We’re constantly at loggerheads making for some interesting conversations…

As a woman I feel duty bound to vote as our right to vote was such a fight, but in all honesty I’m at a loss as who to vote for unless it’s the Monster Raving Loony party as they’d have as much luck in running the country as the next person.. ah well we can now look forward to a months worth of promises that will likely be broken!

On another note, what a dreadful day of rain, got my sweet peas planted just in time so they’ll now have had a good drench!

Take care all

I've got a new Facebook friend who was my boss when i taught children who were behind at school. The classes were  above the reading shop that she ran .

She is now a local councillor of the kind that  Viktoria described

Ethical., truly wanting to help people & get things done with an understanding of ordinary people. I would definitely vote for her ...if I was in Leicestershire but my vote is in Leicester

She is Labour+ they rarely succeed in that parish so I would be torn between voting for the liberal candidate who is also very ethical & helped me with a disability project in the past .

I was pleased to see the name of a local councillor who I actually have talked to in the police commissioner vote . I don't know anything about the guy who actually won here .

Sometimes I feel that my vote doesn't count but out of respect for the suffragettes..I HAVE  to vote .

Councillor Lynn sent me a message to ask if I know about the new DHSS grant
I don't ....but will post & share whatever link she sends me .
