1915 marriage Morgan/ Marshall, West Derby
« on: Tuesday 21 May 24 09:42 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I’ve just received a marriage certificate of George Frederick Morgan 21 and Annie Marshall 22 in   Great Crosby 1915. George father was Thomas occupation collier and Annies father was John Andrew Marshall contractor (deceased). George was a soldier at the time of the marriage. I was hoping for some clues from the certificate to go back further but I can’t see anything that helps. Any eagle eyed kind person out there? Phil.

This looks like a good possibility for Annie MARSHALL in 1911 in Great Crosby:

and 1901 at Ashton under Lyne

There were only three birth registrations of that name.

MORGAN, GEORGE  FREDERICK  mmn HAWKINS
GRO Reference: 1893  S Quarter in FREEBRIDGE LYNN  Volume 04B  Page 315

MORGAN, GEORGE  FREDERICK  no mmn
GRO Reference: 1894  J Quarter in KINGS NORTON  Volume 06C  Page 404

MORGAN, GEORGE  FREDERICK  mmn OWEN
GRO Reference: 1895  S Quarter in OSWESTRY  Volume 06A  Page 678

I cannot find a suitable marriage of Thomas for the first two but there is for the third.

This might be worth a look but there is one other elsewhere, check the 1901/1911 census?

Wow, thank you all. Firstly Jenner, you were right with the witnesses as they were John Victor Jones and what I thought was Fay Marshall but could be as Maddys52 said Fanny. This then gives Annie’s mother. I will look at the Morgans shortly, Phil.
