Worryingly,
There is a marriage 17 Jan 1868 of a Samuel William Bowen, this time the father is Henry William BOWEN and Samuel is a Mariner.
Bride is Elizabeth Ann Williams, nee Smith.

Samuel and Adelaide had a son Harry William BOWEN (he died of Malaria age 11 in 1885)

Anyway …does this mean that Samuel William had children with and then married his step daughter?
Not finding a death for Elizabeth just yet.

Re the father of Samuel William Bowen, there is a death 8 Dec 1850 in Calcutta of a David Alfred Bowen, age 35, who was assistant military auditor with the general’s office.
Although not definite, he is a possibility.

That would make him 18. In 1832. Which…while of course not impossible, does seem unlikely.
