What happened to Mark and Prudence Bosworth?
« on: Thursday 23 May 24 11:50 BST (UK) »
Mark Bosworth and Prudence Jones married 3rd August 1863 at The Parish Church, Tipton, Staffordshire, England. (I have a copy of the parish image)

Prudence Jones may be the daughter of Thomas Jones & Sarah Grainger.

I haven't been able to find anything after 1863 for Prudence Bosworth.

A Mark Bosworth with wife Elizabeth (Vickers?) is in 1881, 1891 and 1901 census.
I don't know if he is connected.

I can find Mark in 1841, 1851---1881,91&1901 census. Re the 1881 census the last 2 children listed Joseph Henry & Elizabeth Ann certainly have mmn as Vickers.

There are only 2 Mark Bosworth's born in UK between 1838-1850. I have a feeling that the Mark you are following may have been in Canada for 1861 & 1871 Canadian census. Will come back later, got to walk dogs.  not your man

I cant see another marriage for Mark so I am wondering if Prudence left him and is living with someone else that is why he couldnt remarry

Mark is the one born 1839 registered under Dudley which covers Sedgley

The 1891 census is revealing it has two lodgers George and Isaiah Green who are actually down as Bosworth on the 1881 census

GRO throws up James Trevor Green 1866 Wolstanton and John Thomas Green 1867 Wolstanton MMN Vickers

30.5.1858 banns were read at St Martin Tipton for James Green and Elizabeth Vickars they married 4.7.1858 James aged 21 of Tipton bachelor labourer father Trevor James Green labourer to Elizabeth Vickars of Tipton aged 19 Spinster father Edward Vickars Butler

1881 census Mark & Elizabeth Bosworth & family living 238, Kimberworth Road, Kimberworth, Rotherham, Yorkshire & Yorkshire (West Riding)

Bosworth family seem pretty elusive in 1871  ???

These children from 1881 census born Staffordshire

Sarah E Bosworth 1863 Bilston, Staffordshire
Moses Bosworth   1864    Bilston, Staffordshire
Trevor J Bosworth 1866 Tunstall, Staffordshire
John T   Bosworth   1867    Tunstall, Staffordshire
George   Bosworth   1870 Tunstall, Staffordshire

Do you have the birth certificate for son George? If so, what was the address given on his b/c?

1891 census Mark & Elizabeth have another son Albert

BOSWORTH, ALBERT       mmn VICKERS
GRO Reference: 1884  M Quarter in SHEFFIELD  Volume 09C  Page 592

Are the Lodgers George (1870) & Isaiah GREEN (1872) on the 1891 census
George (1870) & Isaiah BOSWORTH (1873) from 1881 census  :-\

Mark in 1861 census ref 2050 75 18 aged 21.

Another son was born on the 14th January 1875. Samuel Mark Bosworth. Baptised in Carsbrook, Sheffield in 1878 and died that year. Seemingly no GRO birth ref.
