Have you found him on the English 1851/61 census entries?

Where does this family fit in your FH?  Where have you obtained all the above info?

Have you checked here?

Ancestry shows her just as Elizabeth on their Russian marriage "hint".  Local libraries have free Ancestry access but I don't know if it includes the additional World Wide subscription

The ancestry entries come from Familysearch films. Using the film number 576998
given for the marriage it looks like this is a record from the British factory at St Petersburg

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/532557?availability=Family%20History%20Library

Notes from above page

Microfilm of manuscripts in the Guildhall Library, London.

First volume, 1706-1815 includes index.

Factory was the term used for a trading station or an establishment for traders carrying on business in a foreign country. The British Factory in Russia was located in Moscow from 1706 to 1823, at which time it was moved to St. Petersburg.

Guildhall Library nos.: Ms. 11192 B; 11194/1-45 (or Vol. 1-4)

Or may be able to view at a Family history centre if a trip to London is not possible.

Many thanks for telling about British Factory institution at St Petersburg.  It is so interesting to follow those families who settled long term in Foreign Parts when today we jet in and out in the hope of doing business [unless of course we are at War].
