Lohr Family
« on: Saturday 25 May 24 00:44 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the parents of Eleonore Lohr who was born in Germany in 1827. Also the father of her daughter Anna Rosa born Dorfhien. Baiern. Germany in 1859. Eleonore (age 32years) and Anna (age 1 year 6 months) came from Hamburg on a ship called “Gressbrook” and arrived in Moreton Bay Queensland on 28th September 1861.

I'm assuming Eleanor LOHR/LOEHR married Peter Joseph FAUST in Queensland in Oct 1861?  What information does it have on the marriage certificate re parents' names?

And Annie Rosa FAUST married Carl Rudolff LEU in 1883? Do you have Annie's mariage certificate. Possibly unlikely as she has FAUST as her surname, but does it have her father's name on the certificate?

Hello Maddys52
I have the hand written marriage certificate for Peter Faust and Eleanor Lohr and there are NO parents for either of them.
She was only in the country about 2 weeks before they married.
Annie Rosa Faust on her marriage certificate, which I have, it states her father’s name is Peter Joseph Faust and she was born in Dorfhien, Baiern. Germany.
In Peter Joseph Faust’s Will her name is listed as ‘Anna Rosine Amend’.

Terry

Hi Terry
there is no such place as Dorfhien, Baiern (Bayern)
On the passenger list she is stated as coming from Dorfprozelten in Unterfranken

If the marriage cert is like one in my family (Qld, 1872), it will be hand written by the officiating minister or registrar. Most likely Eleanor told the minister/registrar where she was from and he spelled it as best he could. Were they married according to Lutheran rites, or something different?  Would be interesting to see.  :)
