On my
Calderdale Companion
, I have an entry for
Sir Henry Sutcliffe Smith
[b 1864] at
http://www.calderdalecompanion.co.uk/mms18.html#413
and I have been trying (without success) to find details about his death and/or funeral.
Does anyone know anything about the man, his wife
Gertrude
(nee Ashley) or their family beyond what I already have?

Sir Henry Sutcliffe Smith (1864-1938). Sutcliffe Smith worked in the Bradford textile industry and was executive director of the Bradford Dyers Association. He was chairman of the local Conservative Association and the Bradford branch of the National Lifeboat Association.
There are lengthy obits for him in 1938 newspapers. Images too large to post here.

Thanks for that, ASHTONE. I did start to go through the newspaper cuttings, but my enthusiasm died after about 100 extracts.
