Does anyone know if the baptism records for Stoke Damerel for the first decade of the 19th century are available for purchase? Many thanks

I can't see them mentioned on the local FHS pages as available.

I have transcriptions of Stoke Damerel baptisms 1801-1812 if that helps. Who are you looking for? The baptisms are also available online via FindMyPast.

Thanks so much DOB7, I'm looking for James Pycroft born Devonport 22 April 1803, also a sister Mary Ann Pycroft likely born 1800-1802 ish in Devonport (one census has her a couple of years younger than this though) and any other possible siblings, but I can't find either of them in the baptisms at Find My Past and I have no information about their parents, so they're a brick wall for me.

There are no PYCROFT baptisms at Stoke Damerel 1801-1817 I'm afraid. (My transcriptions were made from fiche of the original registers)
There were 2 burials at Stoke Damerel: Thomas PYCRAFT  3 Jan 1808 aged 8 months and Eleanor PYCRAFT 13 April 1810 also aged 8 months.
An Elena PYECRAFT was baptised at Plymouth Holy Cross, (Roman Catholic) 24 September 1809, born 5th September 1809; dau of the 'lawful marriage' of John PYECRAFT and Margaret his wife (alias DONEVAN), living at Dock.
John & Margaret PYCRAFT also baptised a daughter, Mary on 20 June 1800 (born 16 Jun 1800), at Plymouth Holy Cross.
So, it's possible your family were RC and possibly of Irish origin as the sponsors were Timothy SULLIVAN and Ann BURGESS.
Looked a little further and found a James SYEROFT (as transcribed). The actual register reads: "On the 24th April 1803, I have baptised a son named James, born on the 20th of the same month, of the legiticum (?) marriage of John PYCROFT & Margeritte, his wife (alias DONEVAN), residing at Dock. The sponsors were Cornelius DONEVAN and Brigitte READ.

Bloody well done DOB7

Just to add John seems to have died between 1809-1812

Margaret Pyecroft widow married 29.1.1812 Stoke Dameral Cornelius Trevenew of his Majesty's ship Amazon  by licence.
One witness signed  john Sushbergh?

Daughter Christian Trevenow married at Plumbstead 3.1.1843 to a David Connor carpenter.

And there may be an older brother John Pyecroft.
John and Ann bapt a daughter Ann at Tynemouth 31.10.1827.

Found some more information. A John PYCROFT, wife Margaret, of Plymouth is shown in the British Royal Navy allotment declarations 1805-1810. On the same page, a Cornelius DONOVAN (one of the baptism sponsors) is also listed.

Thank you both so much DOB7 and ciderdrinker, that is totally amazing! It would never have occurred to me to look at Catholic records as there’s no history of any Catholics in my tree. That’s so much to think about and pursue further. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, I am so grateful.
