WW2 RECORD HELP.PLEASE

Just received my grandads WW2 record, sadly I never got to meet him and he died when my mother was only 15 years old.

I have found quite alot out already but struggling with some of the record, any help appreciated....on unit column lines 7, 11 and 12

7, 11 and 12?

By 7 do you mean "16 BAT Flt"?  I think this is 16 Blind Approach Training Flight.

Counting on from that line, 11 would be "South Africa" so I'm not sure that I'm following your numbering.

The Blind Approach Training Flight was conducted by pulling a hood over the front cockpit and preparing to land using instruments only, while the instructor was in the rear cockpit, ready to intervene if necessary.

I only know about that because my father sat in a rear cockpit for about four years.  Elementary training was largely in Tiger Moths or Miles Magisters.
