Frank Benjamin CRESWELL1856 - 1950
« on: Saturday 20 July 24 13:11 BST (UK) »
Hi Hope someone may be able to assist me with information on Frank Benjamin CRESWELL born 1856 Hobart Tasmania died September 1950 Christchurch. I have a mention of an obituary in the Christchurch Star-Sun I believe Sept 1950?? I have had no luck trying to track it down on the internet
Would love to be able to read it. He married Ann DUNKERLEY 1879 after coming to NZ about 1876.
Apparently, he was a colonel in the army
Any assistance would be most appreciated

Further information is available at our PapersPast website >  searching on "colonel creswell" can be helpful  ( - but be aware there was another "colonel creswell" who gained publicity but was "attached" to South Africa and its political parties.)

Don't believe the son Frank Benjamin belongs. According to the NZBDM deaths the NR in 1880 died aged 1 day.

Correct, Ian.  ;)     The Frank Benjamin CRESWELL who died (NZ) in 1976 (birth reg. Sevenoaks, Kent - 1903) was in fact one of the sons of Philip Chichester CRESWELL and his wife Annie Elizabeth DEADMAN who came to NZ from England.   The father and several sons followed the occupation of master bakers.

Frank Benjamin (son)... mentioned in the Will of Philip C. CRESWELL >
