Pulawski/ Rogalski New York

Hi,

I'm looking for the birth places of Boleslaw Pulaski(Pulawski) and his wife Stefania Rogalska. They married in Utica,New York 1915 both born in Russia. Parents were Joe Pulawski and Anna Tuminska and Joe Rogalski and Anastasia Meciwicz.

I'm living in Poland and have a close match on Ancestry and we have to be related through this couple but i need to find out where in Russia oder Poland-Russia they were from.

On the 1920 Census they are living in Syracuse City and their birthplaces are Poland and year of immigration were 1908 for the husband and 1914 for the wife.

Can someone help please ?

Good find, Lisa.  The image of the passenger list is here - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JJ37-R6N  There is more on the 2nd page of the image too, including an address for her uncle in Utica that is very hard to read.  There are markings on the manifest indicating that Stefania sought naturalization in 1942.

I found another image after posting the above.…address looks like 33 Bristol Street, Utica (for the uncle).

There were several men with similar names (for Boleslaw) immigrating around 1908; I haven’t yet narrowed down his immigration record.  [Sorry, the sentence is poorly written.]

There is a Boleslaw Plowski who arrived on the SS Albano from Hamburg on 1 Jun. 1906 and was going to Utica.  He was a farm laborer, age 20, single, and place of last residence looks like P'sfie to me, but was transcribed as Osfia.  He was going to join an uncle Jozef Jansianski (surname is hard to read), 74 Lincoln Avenue, Utica.

wow amazing! Thank you so much. So Stefania Rogalska was from the County Lomza in Poland which was Russia for some time so Poland-Russia fits.Unfortunately I can't find a place called Safron in Poland.

Her Uncles Surname could be Nicewicz,Micewicz, so a brother of her mother Anastasia.

Theres a town Lyse in the Masowian County and also a town Szafranki which sounds polish for Safron to me
