Help with a pension Ledger please.

Would anyone be able to explain what the Description means.

The card is held in a particular series of cards, stored alphabetically. This particular set starts with the card for a soldier named Hukin A and ends with one for Humphrey A.  The card for Hull, W is obviously somewhere between them. The other feature about this set is that they are for deceased soldiers, so pensions were payable to their dependants.

Just to add that the "Other Ranks" bit means that he wasn't an officer.
