Scottish Census 1871 COMPLETED with thanks
« on: Thursday 22 August 24 06:59 BST (UK) »
Hi,

On the Scottish Census 1871 a 68 year old male relative who was a Labourer has his occupation recorded as Labourer (quite inprin).  Would anyone know what "quite inprin" means please?.

Kindest regards,
Daniel Ryan.

Is this info from the original census image or from a transcription? If its a transcription I'd suggest looking at the original on Scotland's People to see if the transcription is accurate.

If the man you are looking at was John McLaren then this is what is on the image and I believe it says he was 'quite infirm'.

Thank you all for your prompt replies and information which I greatly appreciate and also for the copy of the original handwriting which I did not have access too.

Kindest regards,
Daniel Ryan

The census images are only available via Scotland's People and are available for everyone to access, though there is a cost per page
