31st August 2005 for me,  there must be others who registered before that.

Talking about dates, hasn't someone got a big anniversary round about now?

Interesting day on Sunday. After Mark and Erica went back to London before lunch I had a visit from the person who now lives in our first house after we married in 1970 and which we had built ourselves with lots of help from family and friends. Looking through some old photo albums last week I found a picture of the house, not long after it was finished (and ready for us to start on the garden!). So I made a copy and sent it with a letter to the current "Owner /Occupier". I had met her once before , about ten years ago but never maintained contact or knew her name!
She was pleased to get the letter and piccie; "How fortuitous", she said on the phone. "I was meaning to getb in touch with you anyway on another matter relating to local knowledge of the area". She came over on Sunday afternoon with her friend, who turned out to be the grand-daughter of one of our former neighbours!
And so we had about three and a half hours of catch up. But perhaps the most interesting fact, apart from the reason she came over, was that she was Australian and her parents live in Canberra, and of course she was very familiar with the area of the Far South Coast of NSW where our son Andrew and his family live.

Sounds like a lovely get together Jeff.  :)

I've just realised (27 August) that I have now been a member of RC for 16 years.   8)

Have had a look at my profile,  can't believe I've been around here since February 2006!  :o
I was introduced to Rootschat when I attended a family history course, the teacher gave us all a handout of useful websites. It was a really good course with a knowledgeable teacher, I occasionally used to see him in the pub after that! Maybe he's still around on Rootschat.......

Gillg - We can beat you on that one - OH and I celebrated our 60th anniversay on 1 August.  AND we have only known each other for 60 years.  Met in lodgings in spring 1964, I then received my sailing date for emigration to NZ.  Someone said "don't do that, come to London with me instead, and we'll get married."  I agreed AND have never regretted it.  :o
