Stephen KANE 1917
« on: Wednesday 02 October 24 11:42 BST (UK) »
STEPHEN KANE died on 21 March 1917 as a result of a lung disease incurred while serving with the Royal Irish Fusiliers. The son of Mary Kane, he died at North Strand, Drogheda.
Does anyone know where Stephen Kane is buried?  He is eligible for War Grave status if proof of burial can be found.
Any help would be appreciated.

you could try the local council.

1917 that is around the time of the uprising in Ireland.

also you could try the local paper.

seems a lot of graves around this time can be found?

This is a bit round about
This could be Stephen and family in 1901
https://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Louth/Fair_Gate__Drogheda_Town_No__1/Scarlet_Street/1566051/
Note brother Anthony 20 and sister Ellen
On Stephen's death cert informant sister Ellen Mulroy
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1917/05223/4445652.pdf
An Anthony Kane died 1957 aged 77
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1957/04393/4142429.pdf
and his obit mentions sister E Mulroy.
Anthony was buried St Peter's Cemetery, if it's the correct family perhaps Stephen is there too.

he died in North Strand, Drogheda so he must have had a funeral in one of the church's but because of data protection it is harder to get information, but I think one of the church should have a record of his funeral, then the church might be able to tell you were he is buried.
