Arthur FARMER, b. 1861 Wolverhampton, nurse child 1861 census Stretton
« on: Tuesday 08 October 24 15:25 BST (UK) »
I can't find any other reference to Arthur FARMER, b. 1861 Wolverhampton, probably March or early April, because he is listed in the 1861 Census, aged 0, nursechild living with Jane Dyke, 63, widowed, her daughter Harriet Fowler, 20, widowed, and granddaughter Jane Elizabeth Fowler, 1, at Stretton Village, Stretton, Penkridge.

Is it possible to buy his birth certificate on the GRO website, if I'm not a UK resident?

Thanks Carole, I've already merged 'my' Arthur Farmer with his original family tree on FS. I suppose he is the same because there is no record of other Arthur Farmer born in Wolverhampton in 1861, but I wonder why he was living as a nursechild after he was born?

Yes, but I couldn't find any link between the families so far, and isn't the distance between Kinver (where the Farmer family was based) and Stretton Village a bit too far for those times?

You say you can't find "any other reference" to him after 1861 but he is living with his parents in 1871?

Why does there have to be a biological link between the families?

Does there have to be a link?

Not really. I'm actually looking for another Arthur born in Wolverhampton in 1861 that could have been adopted by John Marsden (Railway Foreman). Now I know he's not Arthur Farmer. Check the thread 'The mysterious Mr. Marsden' https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=850295.msg7177758#msg7177758
