Hi Kerry Pink, and welcome to RootsChat  :)

Are you able to provide us with any biographical information, please?

Did they come to NZ or not, where they lived, the names of any children?

Did any of their descendants emigrate to NZ, and if so, their names, when and on which ship?

We need to work backwards from known data just as you have.

Regards,

Spades

Morning.

A search for HORACE EVENS in NZ archives does not get many hits, and the specialist researchers on this form will be able to help, if like SPADES suggests, you supply a little more info on the sources you have searched, plus more associated names,  and their date ranges.

It is a name associated with Invercargil from an early date, and there are possibly a number of siblings given HORACE as their second given/christian name.

Hits from our historic B, D &M's can be found, as can from  National Archives, and Papers Past.

"Horace Evans"

Marriage Search (dia.govt.nz)

Papers Past | Newspapers Home (natlib.govt.nz)   Only 400 hits.

Are any of these hits of interest to you?

Morning Minniehaha.

Been extreemly busy last few days with two pensioner mates in hospital following heart attacks, and a family member with an insulin dosing problem, so as a distraction over a cupa, I just did a basic GOOGLE [NZ] search for "Horace EVANS" plus with Papers past etc etc. Once weeded out the prominent Horace EVANS Uk hits, found a number of direct hits for Horace, but many more where it was a middle EVANS name.  Most in the south island.

But all guess work until we know what ground the thread poster has coverd and what they have not.

OOP'S  sorry, upon rereading the original post, my first search must have been for early EVANS marriages, and from that result I started looking for records of a Horace in early NZ, as he might have been related.

Put it down to old age on my part.

Alan.

Minniehaha.

Op has another post where they were advised to make a new one.
Other post says

“ I'm trying to find my mums family tree mums maidan name was Evans Mums parents are  Horace and Jessie Evans from new Zealand

Regards Kerry pink nee Murch”

So this marriage perhaps

1934/10249   Jessie   Cooper   Horace   Evans

Added..

Or perhaps not. A tree on Ancestry has different parents for that Horace.
. (Forgot, there is another generation but it still doesn’t match your initial post)

Kerry, can you please give the information you know for sure from official documents..
Eg your mothers birth cert must have maiden name  of her mother. And when & where parents  were married.
So presumably you also have their marriage cert? What is the exact information that gives you?  Etc etc
