Mystery badge - UK

The badge shown in the attached photo was among my late grandparents' things.  I assume it is regimental, British and from either WW1 or WW2.  Can anyone identify it?  An image search isn't turning up any matches.

The motto and crest look similar to that of the Earl of Shrewsbury.

  Yes, that's the only lead I've found.  But in what context would an ancestor of mine -- with no relation to any earls, as far as I know -- have had a badge of that family's crest?

Could it be this?
11th. Light Horse Regt.(Victorian Mounted Rifles).
I can't find a complete badge just that part above the Crest.
I was drawn to the odd looking crown.
Below is a cap badge.
Possibly what you have was part of a horses cape regalia.
According to the blurb it was disbanded in 1912.

The crest ( a lion on a chapeau with ermine) the motto (Prest d'accomplir) and the basic shield are all related to the Talbot family, Earls of Shrewsbury who also owned Alton Towers Estate.

Other branches of the family include the Talbots of Malahide and Mount Talbot.
