PAGE & McKENZIE of Waringstown & Donaghcloney, Co. Down.
« on: Sunday 10 November 24 17:45 GMT (UK) »
My maternal grandfather was Charles Page and his wife was Margaret McKenzie 1874-1936, dtr of  Holt McKenzie 2nd and Margaret Martin.  Unsurprisingly, there was always a strong tradition in the family that the McKenzies were closely connected with Scotland. As they did have minor land interests I have tried to find a connection from Plantation times, without success, and so the connection could be far more recent. As is well known, there is dearth of census and parish records for Northern Ireland, so is there a Waringstown McKenzie out there that knows the answer, please?

Some links-

As is well known, there is dearth of census and parish records for Northern Ireland....

You presumably have your Page family in 1911 Irish census.

Thanks Kiltaglassan for the Images. I previously only had transcripts.  In respect of the McKenzies, I am trying really to find much earlier genealogy to discover the  link to the Scottish MacKenzies.  The Pages' family tradition was that, for generations engaged in textiles, latterly the linen industry in particular, they probably came over with the Huguenots (Le Page), but clearly no hard evidence!
