Can we identify this man by his uniform?

I have cut this picture down as I want to focus on this soldier from WW1. The man I have cut out of the picture is my Gt Grandfather Sgt Herbert Johnson. I am trying to work out if this might be one of his brothers? He had three brothers serve in the war. Arthur Johnson 18641 (I have asked about him in a different post). Then i have been told Fred although I haven’t confirmed any record of him but have been told by an elderly relative. And the fourth one we are stumped over (there were quite a lot of brothers). The family is from Creswell in Derbyshire but have ties with the Goole/North Notts border area as well.

Maybe if we can identify the uniform, we can work out the person. Would the braid signify anything? Sorry this is a little vague. I have been hindered by the fact that Johnson is such a common name.

Unfortunately there are no distinguishing features on his uniform. The lanyard is very common to a wide range of regiments and corps. He is wearing the 1908 pattern webbing belt which was the standard type for all troops, although due to production problems, later in the war leather belts with the S shaped clasp were also issued. He's wearing the simplified pattern service dress which was issued after 1914. Since we can't see his legs, we cannot guess if he was employed in the mounted or unmounted role, which would be indicated by the type of puttees he was wearing. There appears to be a shoulder title on his right shoulder but of course it's not readable. He's not wearing any obvious badges of rank, so probably a private.
