Printer Drivers
« on: Friday 29 November 24 08:28 GMT (UK) »
My printer is an Epson XP-355.
Tried to print something yesterday. Failed because the printer driver has been deleted.
Epson website says driver not available for my system, Windows 10?
My laptop apparently isn't capable of running W11!

Anyone have a solution?

Have you tried updating the driver?

Also, if it was running on Win10 before and you've not made any changes, how was the driver deleted?

Add - some possible explanations and solutions

Gadget, I have no idea how the driver was deleted!
Windows update?

I tried the dedicated driver for XP-355 - that was "not available" for my system.

Anyhow fixed now! I downloaded the Epson Universal Printer Driver :D
Printed a single page document.

Not sure when I last printed anything? End of October, before my trip to hospital?

Having read through a few Google bits, it seems that it's a common occurrence!

I've just got an Epson Eco tank. It will save me money on the inks but the set up is more fiddly than previous printers  ::)

Alas Epson do seem particularly bad.

I have had driver issues in the past 20 years with them on two Printers and one scanner.

As is the case, it is the updating of an OS that leads to the issue.

I dumped the thought of using any Epson product and bought two Canons, my Wife’s is 10 years old and multiple updated Mac OS and it still works plus my Windows 7, 8, 10 & 11 Laptop and PC’s all see her Canon MG printer.  I have a Canon A3 specifically for printing photos and that still wirks a treat despite all the changes in OS that my devices have been through.

I wanted to print some pages today.
Guess what?
Epson XP-352-355-Series driver has magically reappeared!
Together with Epson Universal Printer Driver. Which I downloaded yesterday.

Have reset the 352-355 as the default printer.
