Can you help please? - STUART family
« on: Sunday 01 December 24 20:16 GMT (UK) »
The FB page of the NZ Remembrance Army is seeking assistance to locate family members of Private Charles McCombie STUART, who served in WW1, in the NZ military - Auckland Infantry Battalion, A Company - Service No 12/4550.  He died in Wellington, New Zealand on 30 October 1930 and is buried in Karori cemetery, Wellington.  Age 44yrs.  Charles was born on 8 June 1886, Aberdeen, Scotland.
He married in 1920 in NZ to Jessie Munro Macleod who arrived in Wellington, NZ in 1920 to marry Charles and was a Typist.
They had a dau, Mary Elizabeth STUART born 23 November 1920 [1921/7998]
Following Charles' death in 1930 Jessie and Mary returned to Scotland.
Ancestry family trees indicate that Jessie Munro Stuart died on 26 August 1964 in Edinburgh, Scotland of 17 Comely Bank Avenue.
Daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Maimie) STUART died in April 1997, Guildford, Surrey, England.
I have contacted a couple of people who have these names in their family tree, but so far no response.

My questions; Did dau Mary have any family?  Is it possible to find out who Probate was granted to at the time of her death?

Many thanks
TPB

There doesn't appear to be any probate under Stuart but what was her married name? There are 3 deaths for a Mary Elizabeth in Surrey 1997  - Mary Gardner b 23.12.20 (not 23/11) is the nearest.  1939 register entry supports that birthdate

No probate entry under Gardner
