Tuesday 21st January 2025, 7.30pm - 9.00pm (Zoom sign-in from 7.15pm)
Dorset Family History Society will be hosting an online Zoom meeting talk entitled POSTED IN THE PAST by HELEN BAGGOTT.
A freelance editor and writer, Helen shares her love of social history through her illustrated talks. Using genealogy sources she has researched hundreds of postcards sent during the early years of the 20th century including a soldier who was killed in WW1, the man who helped keep the doors of Great Ormond Street hospital open for over 30 years and a 10 year old servant who worked for a laundress in 19th century Britain.
Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link in the latest E-News. If that has not been received, it is also available in the password protected Members’ Area on the website (
www.dorsetfhs.org.uk)
Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should follow the link on the website
www.dorsetfhs.org.uk and select the Liaison option to message us with a request for an invitation link, or directly email
liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk . This request should reach us at least 6 hours before the meeting is due to start, and the link will be sent about 2 hours before the meeting starts.
We welcome a £3.00 donation from each person after they have attended a meeting, payable via the website (see above) on the Society shop.
EVERYONE WELCOME TO JOIN THE MEETING
