1861 census Mary Ann Tonks (50) is living in Brockmoor with Joseph (71) and Elizabeth Cooper (74)
In the very next house is Thomas Wood (49), his wife Emma (49) and family, Cornelious Wood, Esaw Wood, and Susannah Tonks (the daughter of Emma)
Emma's first husband, John Tonks died 7 Jan 1857 from TB (age 51) and Emma married Thomas Wood later that same year 28 December. Both John and Thomas were Boatmen.
Is it just a coincidence that Emma Wood (Tonks) is living next door to Mary Ann Tonks and the Coopers?
Or is it possible that they were related? John Tonks married Emma Beddard Dec 1828 at Dudley.
John and Emma are my direct descendants but I have not been able to locate a birth/bpt for John.
