Help with deciphering place name on Irish Catholic Baptism Register
« on: Sunday 15 December 24 09:21 GMT (UK) »
I am having difficulty making out a note on a register in Ireland, if anyone could help me out.

I believe the name on the left is the townland that the family live. If so is anyone able to make out what it says.
I have used https://www.swilson.info/db/townlanddbs.php to put in the bits that I can make out into the search. I think I have an idea but would love to see if anyone else comes to the same conclusion.

The register is Kilsherdany RC parish in County Cavan, Ireland.  The baptism is for Bridget Reilly, daughter of Farrel Reilly and Bessy Shalvey. It took place on 20th August 1837.

The screenshot is from find my past but the below link should hopefully take you to the free version on the NLI catholic parish registers.

The same name appears a few more times on the same page.

Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Many thanks for your reply. My first thought was Lurgan but I couldn't explain away the dots above it. Your suggestion makes more sense than mine, not only in spelling but also in locale.
