That may mean he was illegitimate, but not always, I have found marriages where fathers not recorded, but the couple were both legitimate or one was illegitimate and the other possibly didn't want to have their father recorded but not their spouse's.
Martha was a minor at marriage. Witnesses were Benjamin Senior (groom on the next marriage record) and Thomas Stayton (also witnesses other marriages so possibly parish official).
