Muriel and Leslie married 25 Dec 1923.
The following September, she was on a ship (alone) back to England, with intention of residing in England, and lists her father's address (as matched by the 1921) as her destination.

In your other thread on Reginald, the last post reads:

You may find something interesting in his estate file. A son is mentioned.

Minniehaha.

You should really read at least "File 5".

Greetings all.
Thank you.
This is a 'turn-up for the books'.And I am in a slight state of shock.

[Perhaps as I have just watched the film on TV "My Old Lady" with many twists and turns about old familiy liasons.] and it is the middle of the night again here.

When my head is clear, I may be able to make some sense of the un-named son [Monty] and the name changes GOODMAN to COOK to SCOTT, and the NZ brother in law Alec FORMAN.

I shall have try to follow the sequence very carefully before they all find a correct place on my tree.
Thank you again for all your diligent uncovering.

Speculation
There is a birth for Montague I. GOODMAN , mothers maiden name JENKINS, in Holburn, 4th quarter 1926.
In 1939, there is a schoolboy, Montague COOK, who on 15 Nov 1947 changed his surname to GOODMAN.  He is living in the Patterson Household, in Cumberland.  His birthdate was in Oct. 1926.

If this the right Monty, I am wondering if he was born to Miriam and Harry Cook,  but for some reason, Leslie was under the impression it was his?
Or did Miriam and Leslie meet up again after she sailed back to England in 1924?

BBART,
I value your speculations!
There is a very small but relvevant Ancestry tree but has not had any attention for over a year.
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/tree/77517501?cfpid=32371346929&dtid=100  Tree owner Gillian GOODMAN.  No response yet!

Did you see my original query about David S.G. GOODMAN?
