St Michaels Church Blackrock Cork
« on: Saturday 18 January 25 02:09 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone recognise this photo - two sides of image - which I downloaded from Ancestry a long time ago. I think it is St Michael's RC Church in Blackrock, Cork. I have Ross family buried here, but I have not found any listing of burials, and no transcriptions of gravestones for Ross, or associated names in my family tree. I tried a google image search, to no avail. Cheers, Louise in Perth, Australia

There is a listing of memorials for this graveyard, but I don't see the one OP is interested in.

and here is the question - when did the Ross family start worshipping in C of I churches and not Catholic ones?
Kay99 that church spire looks just like the photo and its C of I  - which leaves me a bit confused!
Sad thing is - there are no mentions of a Ross family in the graveyards.

If you look at the info on the Findagrave site you will see that not all graves have been recorded. Maybe 75% of them. You could sign up there and ask whoever it is there to specifically look for the grave where the woman is standing in your photo.

Also, many CofI graveyards were mixed. This could be one of them, I don't know.

It is definitely St. Michael's  Church of Ireland and all of the burials here are definitely Protestant.  No Catholics.

People with the Ross surname were mostly Protestants.   Link from www.irishgenealogy.ie just key in Ross Cork and select marriages -
show these marriages for Cork City and the majority of Ross entries were for St. Finbarr's Cathedral ( C of I), St. Nicholas ( C of I)  Douglas ( St. Lukes C of I) .

Hope this is some help
