Cameron - Scheerer - Leeds 1901 censu

In the 1901 Census for Leeds it states that Catherine Cameron, born Leeds 1862, married, is living with her nephew, George Henry Scheerer, born Leeds 1870 and his wife, Amy. I would like to find out when Catherine married and also who her parents were. Any help would be most appreciated.

You need to establish her maiden name to find a marriage.  Have you looked for her on the 1891 census?
Possible 1892 marriage to a Joseph Cameron

The marriage Carole has found is on the Yorkshire Parish Registers section of Ancestry (if you have access.)

This shows that Catherine was 34 at the time of marriage (so birth year slightly out).

Gives her father as John Cook, deceased - a musical instrument maker.

Joseph Cameron was aged 28 and a Brewer. Father Roger Walker Cameron a Tailor.

IF it's the correct marriage of course.

I think Catherine was telling a few fibs on her marriage to Joseph Cameron.
She says she is single and father John but I think she was married before.
Catherine Sheerer and John Cooke Mar 1870 Leeds 9b 559.

The couple appear on the 1881 census at Marsh Lane
John Cooke 32 musician  Scarborough
Catherine 28 musician Leeds.

1891 36 Catherine St Leeds
William Toeler 48 railway clerk Germany
Annie E 47 Leeds
Catherine Cook married  visitor 38 tailoress Leeds.
The William Toeler seems to be the lodger with John and Mary Scheerer in 1861 .So Catherine has left John Cooke and is 'visiting' her old friends.
So Catherine is the younger sister of George's father John Scheerer.
Catherine bapt St Peter's Leeds 10.3.1853 born 18.2.1853. Parents John and Mary .Musician

Not sure what happened to John Cooke in 1881 plus but I'm willing to bet he was still alive in 1892.

Thank you all. I think it now fits together. Catherine Scheerer was born 1853, in Leeds. Her parents were Maria & John. Catherine would have been the aunt of George Henry Scheerer. There was a German, and a musical instruments connection. The Beckett Street Cemetry was the clincher.

Of NO interest to anyone else - only to me - my Gt Gt Grandfather and several siblings were born on Marsh Lane, Leeds -- many decades previously (this Lane mentioned in the post about the 1881 census by ciderdrinker.)
