Philip Fisher b circa 1817 Baconsthorpe or Hempstead
« on: Saturday 08 February 25 18:03 GMT (UK) »
I cannot find a baptism in either parish, searching FS, FindMyPast & Ancestry & I'm looking for ideas where else I might find the information please.

In the 1841 Census he is in Baconsthorpe
Mary Fisher   77 (born Mary Allen is the widow of John Fisher)
Margaret Fisher   42 (her daughter, who never married)
Phillips Fisher   26
Harriet Fisher   23 (Mary's grandaughter, illegitimate child of her daughter Mary.)
Maria Fisher   19  (Mary's grandaughter, illegitimate child of her daughter Margaret.)

John Fisher & Mary Allen had children between 1791 & 1807 all baptised, Phillip could (just) possibly be their son.
Margaret Fisher definitely had 1 illegitimate child Maria (c1822) baptised, again just possibly her son.
Mary Fisher definitely had 2 illegitimate children Harriet (c1819) & Robert (c1824) both baptised, before she married John Hopper in 1833 & had 2 more children again both baptised.(my direct line), & again Philip could possibly be her son.

In 1851, 1861 & 1891 censuses Philip's birthplace is Baconsthorpe.
In 1871 it's Hempstead. His year of birth varies from 1814-1820, the 1829 in the 1881 seems to be a transcription error.

In 1845 Philip marries Elizabeth Frankland on the marriage his father is named as John Fisher, which is then scored through & replaced by John Mann.
In  1876 he marries Caroline Wallis & his father is given as John Fisher.

Because of this I cannot be sure exactly where he fits in my tree, although I do have a 33cm DNA link to his line.

John Fisher and Mary Allen married 3/1/1791 she was from Hempstead.  On the 1891 census Phillip and Caroline have a son aged 12 years Joseph N Fisher.
