Hi,

Looking for some help with MyHeritage Family Tree Builder. I cannot find an answer in their FAQs, etc.

I am trying to work out how I connect a child whose father is unknown and mother is known (but widowed).

  • Samuel Baker Callear was born in 1910; three years after the death of his father Percy William Callear.
  • Percy's widow, Annie Elizabeth (born Baker), has two further children after the death of her husband Percy William Callear: Edith Callear and Jessie Callear.

I suspect it is unlikely that I find identify the father, so I need to connect the three children to just Annie Elizabeth. When I try and do this in MyHeritage Family Tree Builder, I can only choose from the list of existing parents (all couples), etc.

I am currently thinking that I may just have to add a person (name unknown)

FYI - in 1911, Annie Elizabeth is widowed and living with her brother-in-law [shown as married]

Callear/Gallear and a growing list of (mis)spellings

One day my family history will become Callear!!

Although I don't have a tree on MyHeritage adding an unknown partner
is what I do with single mothers.
As well as making it self explanatory it may be the father will be eventually
identified.
