Edward J Walsh, Liverpool City Police
« on: Friday 14 February 25 10:24 GMT (UK) »
I've thought long and hard before posting this as its in such a bad condition (and standing in front of a window didn't help!).

No idea of the date, he was born 1854, Wicklow, and died 1914 in Liverpool.
He'd served with the Liverpool City Police (according to his pension record and obit) for over 28 years moving up through the ranks and retired at the rank of Inspector in 1901.

Any improvement, if possible, would be delightful!

Thanks
Boo

Thank you Rami , I am very grateful for your time and skills - that uniform looks like its just back from the cleaners!
May I ask (not moaning, just wondering) did you give him a new helmet badge? It looks pristine, but I am unsure that its from the right time frame as it doesn't look to be the same shape?

So sorry Rami, I really wasn't criticising, just wanted to know if it was an addition.
I'll google :-)

I think it would have the Liver bird in the centre and be more rounded

Here (hopefully) is a photo around the same time - the tunic is the same style but the badge again isn’t clear. However the shape is more distinct.
